Can I use a regular votive candle as a drifting candle I put one in water and it floats is it safe? Safety isn't the issue, since it is drifting in water, unless of course you are setting it up by a window treatment or something flammable above the candle. If it works and you like the look go for it. I think the ball candles and those designed to float are better because they have a wider base and they are less likely to be topheavy. Maybe to make a regular candle float upright rather of tipping over, you may take a lot of of those candlescaping marbles and melt one to the bottom of the candle, over the wick holder. This will weight it down in the center on the bottom, so it doesn't bob around. |
