The Nose in the Sacred BooksBefore dealing with the topic of the "Nose" in Quran versus Bible versus sciences, it is mandatory to do not forget that the total words in the Bible are 788,280 while the total words in the Quran are 77,473. It follows that, the Bible is more than 10 times the Quran word-wise. The Nose is brought up 19 times in the Bible and only once in the Quran, i.e. the Bible mentions the Nose 19 times more than the Quran In other words, the Bible has the potential of more than 10 times (word-wise) and 19 times (subject-wise) than the Quran to talk with regards to the Nose. The Nose in the Bible: The Lord will put his hook in your nose and his bit in your mouth I wonder, does the Lord have a hook and a bit? 2 Kings 19:28 Because you rage versus me and your insolence has reached my ears, I will put my hook in your nose and my bit in your mouth, and I will make you return by the way you came.' Isaiah 37:29 Because you rage versus me and because your insolence has reached my ears, I will put my hook in your nose and my bit in your mouth, and I will make you return by the way you came. The rights of the blemish and handicapped! The rights of the blind man, or a lame, or he that has a flat nose: Do not approach Leviticus 21:18 For whatsoever man he be that hath a blemish, he shall not approach: a blind man, or a lame, or he that hath a flat nose, or any thing superfluous, The king of Assyria, who took Manasseh prisoner, put a hook in his nose. It is Biblical method to catch and arrest people. It is by putting a hook in the arrested one. 2 Chronicles 33:11 So the LORD brought versus them the army commanders of the king of Assyria, who took Manasseh prisoner, put a hook in his nose, bound him with bronze shackles and took him to Babylon. Can anybody capture him and pierce his nose? It seems likely that the Bible considers it as an inconceivable thing! Job 40:24 Can any individual capture him by the eyes, or trap him and pierce his nose? Can you put a cord through his nose? Job 41:2 Can you put a cord through his nose or pierce his jaw with a hook. They have noses but they can not smell; This may occurs in the course of a good deal of impairment of normal physiological functions of the nose Psalm 115:6 They have ears, but cannot hear, noses, but they can not smell; Twisting the nose gives rise to blood! Proverbs 30:33 For as churning the milk gives rise to butter, and as twisting the nose formulates blood, so stirring up anger formulates strife." Your nose is like the tower of Lebanon looking toward Damascus. Song of Solomon 7:4 Your neck is like an ivory tower. Your eyes are the pools of Heshbon by the gate of Bath Rabbim. Your nose is like the tower of Lebanon looking toward Damascus. thy breasts shall be as clusters of the vine, and the smell of thy nose like apples; Song of Solomon 7:8 I said, I will go up to the palm tree, I will take hold of the boughs thereof: now likewise thy breasts shall be as clusters of the vine, and the smell of thy nose like apples; I am holier than thou. These are a smoke in my nose Isaiah 65:5 Which say, Stand by thyself, come not near to me; for I am holier than thou. These are a smoke in my nose, a fire that burneth all the day. Look at them putting the branch to their nose! Ezekiel 8:17 He said to me, "Have you seen this, son of man? Is it a trivial matter for the house of Judah to do the detestable things they are doing here? Must they also fill the land with violence and continually provoke me to anger? Look at them putting the branch to their nose! The outcome of the jealous anger of the Lord! They will cut off your noses and your ears. They will take away your sons and daughters, and those of you who are left will fall by the sword and consumed by fire. Ezekiel 23:25 I will direct my jealous anger versus you, and they will deal with you in fury. They will cut off your noses and your ears, and those of you who are left will fall by the sword. They will take away your sons and daughters, and those of you who are left will be consumed by fire. Stop the noses of the passengers Ezekiel 39:11 And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will give unto Gog a place there of graves in Israel, the valley of the passengers on the east of the sea: and it shall stop the noses of the passengers: and there shall they inter Gog and all his multitude: and they shall call it The valley of Hamongog. The Nose ring The Bible talks regarding Nose ring in five verses. Genesis 24:22 When the camels had finished drinking, the man took out a gold nose ring weighing a beka and two gold bracelets weighing ten shekels. Genesis 24:30 As soon as he had seen the nose ring, and the bracelets on his sister's arms, and had heard Rebekah tell what the man said to her, he went out to the man and found him standing by the camels near the spring. Genesis 24:47 "I asked her, 'Whose daughter are you?' "She said, 'The daughter of Bethuel son of Nahor, whom Milcah bore to him.' "Then I put the ring in her nose and the bracelets on her arms, Isaiah 3:21 the signet rings and nose rings, Ezekiel 16:12 And I put a ring on your nose, earrings on your ears and a gorgeous crown on your head. The Nose in the Quran: Allah has written in Torah that a life for a life, an eye for an eye, a nose for a nose, an ear for an ear, a tooth for a tooth, and for wounds equivalent retaliation, but whosoever forgoes it as a freewill offering, it will be expiation for him. Whoever does not judge according to what Allah has sent down are the wrong-doers. The Bible does not talk when it comes to whosoever forgoes the Law a freewill providing and it is reward in the afterlife! Surah 5:45 QARIB: we have written for them a life for a life, an eye for an eye, a nose for a nose, an ear for an ear, a tooth for a tooth, and for wounds equivalent retaliation, but whosoever forgoes it as a freewill offering, it will be an expiation for him. whoever does not judge according to what allah has sent down are the harmdoers. SHAKIR: and we prescribed to them in it that life is for life, and eye for eye, and nose for nose, and ear for ear, and tooth for tooth, and (that there is) reprisal in wounds; but he who foregoes it, it shall be an expiation for him; and whoever did not judge by what allah revealed, those are they that are the unjust PICKTHAL: and we prescribed for them therein: the life for the life, and the eye for the eye, and the nose for the nose, and the ear for the ear, and the tooth for the tooth, and for wounds retaliation. but whoso forgoeth it (in the way of charity) it shall be expiation for him. whoso judgeth not by that which allah hath revealed: such are wrong-doers. YUSUFALI: we ordained therein for them: "life for life, eye for eye, nose or nose, ear for ear, tooth for tooth, and wounds equivalent for equal." but if any one remits the retaliation by way of charity, it is an act of atonement for himself. and if any fail to judge by (the light of) what allah hath revealed, they are (no better than) wrong-doers. It must be emphasized that the Torah's law that is brought up in four verses never says "Nose for Nose". The law says: Life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, wound for wound BUT never says Nose for Nose. However, in the Quran Allah has written in Torah that a life for a life, an eye for an eye, a nose for a nose etc. Back to the main topic of my series of articles (1- 65); this is my question to you smart readers: "Is the Quran cited from the Bible "? And which book contradicts with sciences?

Spiritual Clothes of Judaism? What does one call the flat little rounded hat that Orthodox Jews wear on the crown of their noggin? What is the meaning/significance of it? Where in the Bible/Torah does it say to do that? answer: Yarmulke Cover your head so that the fear of heaven may be upon you. -Talmud Shabbat 156b It is an ancient exercise for Jews to cover their heads for the duration of prayer. This in all likelihood derives from the fact that in Eastern cultures, it is a sign of respect to cover the head (the habit in Western cultures is the opposite: it is a sign of respect to remove one's hat). Thus, by covering the head for the duration of prayer, one showed respect for G-d. In addition, in ancient Rome, servants were required to cover their heads while free men did not; thus, Jews covered their heads to show that they were servants of G-d. In medieval times, Jews covered their heads as a reminder that G-d is always above them. Whatever the reason given, however, covering the head has always been regarded more as a habit rather than a commandment. |
