A scaled down pace gives you space to catch up and breathe. It gives you an probability to make sure your bookkeeping is up to date, that other systems of your life are working as they must (and the space to make necessary corrections if they are not). One such interval occurs each year for the month-long amount of time starting on April 20th. This is when the Sun travels through Taurus. Taurus is represented by the bull, an animal that may be slow and plodding if left to it is devices, but may be a mass of rage when sufficiently provoked. Do not provoke Taurus. Taurus alternatively chooses to be left alone. He has his own sense of time which is much dissimilar than yours if you were born with a birth chart containing a lot of cardinal, fire or Gemini energy. Like the Knight of Pentacles in the RWS Tarot deck, he will get to his destination, but on his own schedule. But initial he wants to make sure... While his predecessor sign Aries have a tendancy to leap before it looks, Taurus conservatively considers his next move. Perhaps one reason for this is that he finds himself cleaning up Aries' messes. On the other hand, different from his predecessor sign Aries, Taurus' commitments are for the long haul. Taurus does not like complications. While he has the longanimity to untangle complexity he alternatively chooses simplicity. Simple is straightforward and easy to understand. And secure. And the Bull likes security.

Too much on the Wiccan Altar? Are a heap of wiccans putting too much on their altar? Between the bells, incense, bowls, plates, candles, knives, wands, rocks, water, cups, pentacles, the silver pentacle, the pentacle representing earth, salt, altar cloths of various dissimilar colors...get the idea? Does anybody dress up their altar with simple representations and no knives, chalices, and cauldrons? Just a thought written down...any thoughts? Blessed Be and Happy Yule. Everyones altar is different. You don't need a ton of tools for Wicca and few people have EVERYTHING you mentioned.. at least to my knowledge. A good altar is a work of art... it's a zen arrangement of objects to be visually pleasing, not just a pile of junk on a table. I've seen PLENTY of altars and shrines that have few objects on the mat all... a good deal of of the smallest ones included a single candle-holder and a framed picture of a lot of kind. I've seen galore very subtle altars, as well, that contained no blades, bowls or other ostentatious tools... such altars may be effortlessly mistaken for artful arrangements of stones and candles. Honestly, no one but the person using the altar may determine what is "too much." If somebody feels it is necessary to pile their sword, athame, staff, wand, chalice, cauldron, pentacle etc on their altar, it's because it serves a practical function for them detached from just being pretty. Yeah, it may be overcrowding to the eye, but for some, this isn't a distraction and each and each object has a specific role that suits the practitioner and is placed very specifically to fill that role. Personally, I don't leave my altar set up and use a shrine instead... my tools get put away and the shrine is a place largely for objects of reverence and symbols of divine principles. My "altar" is set up on a need-only basis whenever I do a ritual or spell and will integrate only the things I need for that peculiar work. |
