Was Jesus circumcised? Yes, Jesus was circumcised because he was like any other Jewish male. Remember, Jesus was a Jew and underneath Old Testament law. He was to be circumcised on the eighth day after his birth. "And each male amid you who is eight days old shall be circumcised allround your generations, a servant who is born in the house or who is purchased with cash from any foreigner, who is not of your descendants," (Genesis 17:12).
There is no doubt whatsoever that Jesus was circumcised on the eighth day. Jesus was circumcised eight days after birth, as was required by Jewish law. The Bible mention's Jesus' circumcision in Luke 2:21. Luke 2:21 [Jesus Presented in the Temple] on the eighth day, when it was time to circumcise him, he was named Jesus, the name the angel had given him before he had been conceived. Most of the churches celebrate The Feast of the Circumcision of Jesus. It is interesting that all the Christian celebrate the event of their God getting circumcised!
Male circumcision is the remotion of some or the entire foreskin (prepuce) from the penis.
In Judaism, male circumcision is obligatory for Jewish-born males; it is considered a commandment from God.
In Islam, male circumcision is an necessary practiced habit amid all male Muslims. In Islam, circumcision is brought up in Prophetic Hadith but not in the Quran. Nevertheless, it is obligatory for each male Muslim.
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), global estimates suggest that 30% of males are circumcised, of whom 68% are Muslim.
Circumcision as a religious habit is well known since the time of Abraham. Abraham, Ishmael and Isaac were circumcised. All the Prophets came from Abraham up to the Prophet Muhammad were circumcised. All the Prophets commanded their people to exercise male circumcision. Jesus as an example of idealisti man was circumcised.
All male Muslims follow this religious habit that also was practiced by the Lord Jesus.
The Roman Catholic Church formally condemned the ritual observance of circumcision and ordered versus it is exercise in the Ecumenical Council of Basel-Florence in 1442.
In the former article, we have seen that the Muslims (not the Christians) follow the Lord Jesus in his word of greeting; that is Peace be unto you = Assalaamu alaykum.
The present article adds another habit (circumcision) that was practiced by the Lord Jesus and the Muslims (not the Christians) follow him in practicing this religious custom.

religious question jesus when he was imprisoned what occur to him while shackled.? Ok here's the scenario he jesus is chained to a wall.! What do you think,did they treat him well,like did they give him 3 square meals a day.let him go to the head to relieve him self,.pee poo poo.was he abel to bathe.how long did he get to keep his robe,who do you think got it.the robe.did they like make him work for his feed like undertake to grab it with his feet just out of reach stuff like that .what do you think. I don't recall anyplace in the Passion where Jesus was imprisoned. He may have been shackled, but not put inside a cell. At least not long sufficient for the gospel writers to give it any mention. |
