how much would you be more than willing to compensate for a habit micro/pixel mosaic? i've learned a very interesting new craft; micro (or pixel) mosaics. i've got the capability to formulate any picture (any effigy or photo, or enlarge a little portion of one, in particular nice for portraits) you would want and a decent size is 12" x 15" which has 18,000 handset pixels in it. i estimate that a picture of this size would take me approx 50-55 hrs. to complete. the cost of materials is approx $100.00. the medium is plastic, not glass - but size may be as little as 3" x 5" (approx 6 hrs of work ) or as huge as you want (cost of time and material adjusting accordingly). i'd like to market these pictures as habit gifts for folks (think weddings, precious photos, anniversaries, realatives, etc...) finished goods are frameable and rather striking and unique. knowing the cost of materials ($100.00 for 12" x 15") and the time it takes (50-55 hrs) to finish one of a decent 12" x 15" size, how much would you be more than willing to remunerate for a habit work of art that is significant to you? $1000 to $1200 for a 12 x 15. They guy above might be right, but any individual may figure out how to do anything now a days online. If you are good at it and you specialize in that type of art work then go for it. I would remunerate like a said for a habit print by an artisan up to $1200 and I wouldn't bother attempting to figure out how to do it myself. Frankly if it take a pro 55 hours to do it, then it would take the non professional up to 4x longer and like the saying goes time is money. |
