While Jehovah's Witnesses do take place to believe that Michael is plainly another name for Jesus, the matter is scarcely central to their faith or distinctive to their faith. Should a Christian be troubled at the Bible instructing that Jesus is the "archangel"? No. The Bible likewise refers to Jesus as an apostle, yet it is beyond evident that Jesus is higher than any mere apostle. Or high priest for that matter!

Jehovah's Witnesses do occur to believe that Michael is Jesus, because to them even a child may recognize what the Bible says in regards to the idea... Is not Jesus Christ the primary "Seed" who defeats Satan? The Millennial Rule begins with Satan's abyssing, performed by Christ Jesus, and no mere subsidiary. Thus, when Revelation 12:7-9 tells us that "Michael" performs this work, Jehovah's Witnesses are convinced that "Michael" is merely another name for Jesus, just as "Immanuel", "Sprout", "David", and "The Word" are further and added names of Jesus (see Matt 1:23 ["Immanuel"]; Zech 6:12 ["Sprout", "Branch", or "Shoot"]; Ezek 37:24,25 ["David"]; Rev 19:13 ["The Word of God"]).

Does the questioner feel compelled to insist that Jesus is above mere angels? Jehovah's Witnesses agree!

Despite the incorrect conceptions of Christendom, the Bible itself teaches that there is one single solitary archangel, the lone "Chief of the Angels". By definition, each ‘mere angel’ would be lesser than that archangel. Thus, Jehovah’s Witnesses insist that it would be wrong to believe that Jesus was a mere angel on a par with other angels. Even before he came to world and was impaled, Jesus the Son enjoyed a position higher than any other creature in existence because of two dissimilar reasons.

Firstly, as the primary of creation, Jesus likely expended thousands or millions or billions of years in exclusive association with Jehovah; this distinguishable chance permitted Jesus to learn so much that Jesus is spoken of as the "image" and "reflection" and "exact representation" of Almighty Jehovah God.

.. ..(Hebrews 1:3) [Jesus] is the reflectivity of [Jehovah's] glory and the precise representation of his very being

Secondly, the bible teaches that Jesus worked alongside Jehovah to CREATE the other angels (and the rest of the heavenly and physical universe).

All other things have been developed through him and for him. 17 Also, he is before all other things and by means of him all other things were made to exist, 18 and he is the head of the body, the congregation. He is the beginning
.. ..(Revelation 3:14) These are the things that [Jesus] says, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation by God [see 2 Cor 1:20]

As the agent of creation for the other angels, who better than Jesus to be their "Chief"? Interestingly, the Scriptures refer to *ALL* angelic spirit creatures as "morning stars". Jesus is not excluded from that terminology, but he is elevated by the distinctive description "the BRIGHT morning star".

In summary, it seems beyond debate that the Bible identifies Jesus with the offices of “archangel”, “apostle”, “high priest”, ‘bruiser of the basi serpent’, ‘abysser’, "Immanuel", "Sprout", "David”, "The Word", "Chief of the Angels", ‘image of God’, “firstborn of all creation”, “the beginning of the creation by God”, “only-begotten son”, ‘son of God’, ‘morning star’, and “bright morning star”. Is it in truth a surprise that Jesus is also called “Michael”?
