Do you have to be Jewish to wear the star of David? I'll be truthful, I think the star of David is an likeable symbol. I wish to get a tattoo of it even though I am not Jewish, may I do this with out offending a majority of the Jewish people? I can't say I'd be incisively offended but I might feel exhaustively confused! If persons wear a Star of David around their neck, I always used to assume they were Jewish, until I made that assumption on one occasion and the person concerned mocked me. Star of David as a tattoo? - that would feel disorienting (tattoos forbidden in Judaism, Jewish symbol....) What is it with regards to the Star of David that you find so appealing? What does it mean to you? Obviously, you may do whatsoever you want, but unless there is some deep meaning for YOU in the Star of David, it seems a bit gratuitously thoughtless to use a symbol that we see as significant, culturally. |
