God Brass
| God has sent his word and healed you (Ps. 107:20). It's the word that heals. In the book of Numbers 21:8,9 the humans were healed by looking at that serpent of brass because God sent his word to carry out that. In another instance in the book of 2Kings 5:10-14 a man that was a leopard was healed by dipping himself 7 times in the Jordan River. Notice again God sent his word to carry out that. Notice the children of Israel and the man Naaman was healed by those things because thats what God spoke. And God has sent his word concerning you "and with his stripes we are healed." Isaiah was speaking of something that was to come. Then in the book of 1Peter 2:24 Peter says "by whose stripes ye were healed." God sees you as being healed. And you have to see yourself as being healed in spite of whatsoever is going on in your body. The Bible says in 2Corinthians 4:18 "While we look not at the things which are seen but at the things which are not seen." Look at Luke 17:12-14 detect they asked Jesus to have mercy on them. And Jesus told them to show themselves to the priest. In those days you only showed yourself to the priest after you were cleansed. So Jesus was calling them healed. And as they went they were cleansed. Notice they believed the words of Jesus over what they could see and feel. They put their faith in Jesus words not what they saw and felt. Notice it was the words of Jesus that did it. And Jesus only spoke the words of his father (John 12:49,50). It's the word of God that heals. And the word of God coming out of your mouth will fetch healing. The book of Proverbs 12:18 says the tongue of the wise is health(medicine). The tongue of the wise is health because the word of God is medicine (Pro. 4:20-22). And medicine has to be taken regularly and consistently. You have to hold on to your confession of faith (Heb. 10:23). That word profession is translated confession. And if you are faithful to speak God's word that word will not return to God void but it shall accomplish.

Mormons: Why didn't God provide another way for Nephi to get the brass plates? I'm assuming a heap of persons will say "God works in mysterious ways." However, isn't it disturbing that God would strength Nephi to explicitly break one of His commandments? I'm very intimate with the Book of Mormon, so feel free to go into detail. Laban's free will. It's not like that was the only thing they tried. and it's not like Nephi jumped at the chance either. Nephi knew that God would help him get the plates, because that is what he had been asked to do. So they asked for them, and Laban tried to kill them. So they offered all their riches for the plates. Laben stole the riches and tried to kill them. When Nephi went back again - he found Laben passed out drunk near his house. Nephi was told to kill him. He did not want to. He was told to do it again, and it was explained when it comes to how the nation they would form in a new place would need the word of God with them. |
