How do I the right way play my singing bowl for greatest or most complete or best possible benefit? I not so long ago purchased a big Tibetan singing bowl from eBay - outstanding price, and the piece is very impressive. I've read a little regarding these singing bowls- they're supposed to have curative healing powers. How do I play the bowl in the right manner to gain greatest or most complete or best possible benefit? The bowl I purchased is tuned to 'D' - the sacral chakra., if I'm not mistaken. It sings very easily- I hardly have to touch the outside rim with the wooden striker before it starts humming. Thanks for your help. well i'm guessing it's pretty huge,I have one that's tuned to A for the third eye and it's significantly smaller. What i do is hold it in my left hand (improvise if your bowl is real big) and strike it, Or you may rub the mallet around the outside edge to get a good humming sound. (I find it more comfortable to use wooden mallets here because i get better sound) What you're ideally looking for is two sounds. A low sound and a high sound. A harmonic. If you have both sounds you recognise you're doing it right. This harmonic is going to correspond to your sacral chakra. This works because the frequency that the bowl is emitting is corresponding and 'tuning' your chakra to the bowl. It actually does depend on if you have a good quality bowl though. |
