Is it late to start out learing the cello at 25? I ve been playing the piano for some years, but i don't recognise if a string instrument is hard to learn now. I don't want just to learn to play for fun but severe learning. Somebody told me that it would be having little impact to go for a brass/wood wind at this age rather than a string. what do you think of your experience? I play piano too, and I started violin last year at age 15 (I'm not sure if you'd consider that old...). I actually found that I modern a lot more immediate than younger children. I think one of the main reasons persons commend that children commence early, specially on string instruments is to train the ear for good intonation. However, this was not a problem for me because I already played piano and so it wasn't difficult to tell whether a note was out of tune. Many things from piano playing helped me mainly with violin, such as tuning, reading music and likewise musicality. I'm not sure regarding flexibleness with body movements though, I didn't have much of a problem with that either. String instruments are hard to learn, particularly at the beginning because it's hard to get a good sound out of it at first. There were so some things to think regarding when I original started, such as bow speed, bow pressure, whether the bow was straight, and whether the notes were in tune. This was a outstanding contrast to piano playing, as it is comparatively easy to make a good sound on piano, the notes are there, already tuned and all you have to do is press the key. However, with practise, everything gets easier. There are difficulties involved in playing all instruments, such as with brass and woodwind, there is tone production, breathing control, and also tuning. I don't inevitably think those instruments are any having little impact to learn and I likewise don't think being younger would make it any having little impact either. I think the only major vantage younger beginners have is more time, so that by the time they are 25 years old, they could already be at professional level. I chose a string instrument because I love the sound it may construct and the repertoire. I think, if you like cello, you must go for it and not choose an instrument that may be a little having little impact to learn, yet not your original choice. You've gotta love it to succeed. |
