Beautiful Rosary
| Color elicits aroused and physical responses. Color may stimulate, excite, or plain put you to sleep. So yes, we would have to say color has a role to play in your productivity, and therefore, your extreme success. What color are you or is it the same for everyone? Who are you, what do you need, what is your personality type? Are you self-motivated, or now and then need a kick in the pants? Is silence deafening, or is silence golden? Do you need to wake up or slow down? I lately re-organized my home office space. It was gorgeous decent already, nicely laid out and somewhat organized. But something was missing. When I walk into my office, I want to FEEL like being there, I want to FEEL like being procreative and working there and staying there until I am satisfied with whatsoever I am attempting to accomplish. I want to feel comfortable and organized so I may think properly. I did numerous in truth basic things. I repainted, I took out what didn't belong, and substituted it with what did. I assessed my needs based on my personality: I have a lot of energy and am highly self-motivated. I can not think in the right manner if there is a lot of action around me. The reason? I am highly energetic, a million new ideas a minute. This quality likewise makes me without apparent effort distracted, always multi-tasking. Sometimes that's okay, but once in a while I lose my way and it may take a few days to do not forget where I was and what I wanted to do. I need a calm, generative and quiet space where I am not distracted. I need a space where I am comfortable to linger, where I WANT to linger until I have finished my task, like writing this article. Color played a role in this. Following is a very basic road map in regards to color responses: Blue: Security/Authority I chose an appealing, 'quiet' olive green for my office. Why? Green offers, tranquility and peace, you will want to stay and linger in a green room. So how will this help me? First, it will calm my racing mind so I may concentrate. Second, because the room offers me freedom, peace and tranquility, I will feel 'welcome' and comfortable staying here until my work is complete. I will be more productive. I also had a couple of furniture issues. My sewing machine was in my office for lack of a better space. Since this is an office and not a sewing room, it did not belong here. I took it out and moved it to my laundry room and substituted it with a actually nice simple bookcase. Now all of my materials and reference books are in one place. My office is also filled with things that I love, that make me feel warm and safe and that are special to me. For example, (and you will have your own list), family photos, my dream board, my medals from running, a finelooking rosary I picked up in Brazil a couple of years ago, my education certificates. Angels and a calming painting...you get the idea. Now if you need a jolt to get going, choose a color that helps provide that. Get into the reds and oranges, which provide stimulation and excitement. And listen...just because it's on the color wheel doesn't mean you must use it in your whole room! You could paint a delighting color and flash accents of red and orange to give that boost and energy you require. An aside: If you do not have the lavishness of space and taking a room for yourself, do yourself a favor and setup a 'perimeter'. You may use furniture, plants, whatsoever to define YOUR office space. Let everyone in your family know, that unless there is an emergency, when you are in this space, you are working, even if it 'looks' like you're sleeping. (Cuz really, you could just be meditating and preparing your syndication strategy, right?!)
