Altar Table
How To Create Your Wicca Witchcraft AltarThe original step is to exhaustively clean the room that will integrate your altar. It is best to mix sea salt into water. If you can't find any sea salt to use (any new age shop ought to have some), just use cleaning furnishes you would commonly use. Scrub down the walls, ceiling and floor (if you don't have a rug). Make sure to pick up the clutter, and coordinate the room as best you can. The less clutter and mess, the more comfortable it will be to control the energy that collects. Now, you need to determine where North, South, East, and West are. You may use a compass, or ask someone who knows (if you don't). Once you figure them out, make sure to mark them using any little objects so that you won't forget. The reason you are doing this is because your altar will be set up facing North because it is the direction of "Earth" and the important energy you will connect to. Next, you need to mark your circle. You may use white cord, or any little objects that are sacred to you. (such as candles or figurines) If you have sufficient room, undertake to mark the circle amid 5 to 9 feet in diameter. (If you don't have sufficient space your circle may be smaller, but it may be a little more difficult to stay inside of the circle when doing your spell work. When you mark the circle begin in the East and move clockwise around the circle, finishing again in the East. Think of this is a "permanent" circle that you will "redraw" each time you do ritual or spell work. (you'll see how to redraw it later) Now it is time to decorate your temple (the area around your circle). You may hang significant posters, fabric, and pictures. You may set up candles all around the room in any way that feels right for you. Try to set up a mystical feel, one that builds strong emotions for Magick work. The embellishing may be simple or elaborate, whatsoever evokes strong sensations inside of you. Next, you need to do an basi cleansing and purification of your space. So you will have to initial prepare the cleansing water for this ritual. You will "charge" the water with positive and pure energy from your heart. Then you will use this water to cleanse your space. This purification is very indispensable to carry out in the right way or your space will be tainted - and it will never "feel" right. Your Magick will in all likelihood suffer as a result. I can't stress how indispensable the preparation of your cleansing water, and the actually cleansing and purifying of your space is. It so critical for you to genuinely see the rituals being done that I have included a DVD section on them in the full Witchcraft Academy. Not only is there a elaborated step-by-step guide for you to follow (with pictures and images), but you will actually see a demonstration of this powerful (and important) ritual. Once you have wholly cleansed and purified your space, it is time to set up your altar. Throughout this process, keep in mind that you may use any materials to set up an altar - but it is best to keep out of the way of using synthetic or metal materials. You may use a little wooden table that is among knee and chest high (you may even consider a circular table - which are ordinary for altars) The idea here is to maintain the natural energies of the Earth by using materials coming directly from the world (if possible). Set up your effeminate diety elements to the left, and your mail diety parts to the right. (for Wiccans, Goddess parts to the left, and your God constituents to the right) If you want to see a full layout of elements, and how to arrange them on your altar to heighten your connection to Magick - see the Home Academy to follow the precise steps. It also includes pictures of dissimilar altar setups and a video visual representation of set up and "consecration" of tools and other items on your altar. (This is a must to harmonize the energy within the tools with the energy of the altar and your sacred space) Replace the markers you used to define the directions (North, South, East, and West) with white candles. In the DVDs you will likewise see how you may use colored candles that represent each of the elementary colors of the four directions. I like to place more candles around the border of the circle because I like to work my magic by candlelight. Finally, repeat the purification ritual in the Home Academy for your altar and the circle. Then take a broom, or use your arm to clear out the space of the circle and push any negative or dark energy away. Your original Witchcraft change is born, congratulations! Now you may gradually increase it's power to attract the Magick energies you will need in your spell work by adding significant objects to it. There are a great deal of specific examples of altar setups, and examples of objects that you may add. Above all, these objects will have to be a reflectiveness of you. The more of "you" that goes into your altar, the more power you will be capable to draw from it - and the more shelter it will offer as you do your Magick.

Where is it more suitable to put a cremation urn at home? on the side tale or on the altar? my fathers cremation urn has been sitting on his bedside table for 2 years now, (primary reason was to give ease to my stepmom), been marveling now if it would be better to place him on the altar rather since my stepmom ain't using the same room anymore? (planning to transfer the urn into the churches columbarium, but it ain't finish yet). I'm in the philippines, but my father was pure german, if culture would matter. Maybe your stepmother likes it there. My best friend's husband's urn is on a shelf in the kitchen cabinets. She said she likes to say good morning when she gets her Cheerios. Maybe your step-mom likes the urn there so she knows he's there but it isn't a big deal. My friend likes the urn next to the cereal because he's there if she needs him, but concealed from people who mean well but feel they have to say a lot of condolences yet again or always act in a somber way with no laughs or gossips or fun because they recognise the urn is there. She said that before she put it in the cabinet she would forget the urn was out in view but visitors saw it and always acted weird and it made her feel depressed. I'd ask your step-mom why she keeps the urn there and if she would like the urn someplace else, but be prepared for her own reasons of why it is there. |
